People across Canada need to get behind this effort to end this practice of adding Fluoride (actually toxic chimney scrubbings with lead arsenic and other poinsonous materials) in the pretense that it helps protect children's teeth. I think the only reason fluoride is still our water supplies is because the public is uneducated on the subject. Most young people I speak to aren't even aware what fluoride is or that it is being added to the water, let alone its impacts on our health and the environment. If people knew the truth about this, fluoridation would be BANNED! The problem is, everyone thinks they're an expert without doing any research on the matter and believe everything these big organizations (i.e. Ontario Dental Association) say when they too have no proof on the matter either. If Canada put out a census on the matter along with all the availible information about it, I am positive everyone would opt fluoride out of the water. Whoever wants poison in their water must have something wrong with them!

How supposedly intelligent Medical Officers of Health can continue to recommend poisoning citizens with HFSA in our drinking water is beyond me when they have no studies showing HFSA is safe for human consumption. However, my Medical Officer of Health has about 280,00 (salary?) reasons to keep spouting the official Health Canada bull s…t while 5000 wise members of Physicians for the Environment (with no government connections) want fluoridation stopped. In fact, two recent animal studies (2010) show it is harmful. I thought physicians took an oath to do no harm? Are M o Hs exempted from that oath? There is fluoride in toothpaste for those who want it. I certainly don’t. Vitamin D3 is a better preventer of cavities along with good nutrition and good dental hygiene. These improve human health instead of destroying human health.

I, and others, train water system operators to maintain their distribution systems in such a manner that carefully processed drinking water has a chance of reaching the last tap as a safe and palatable product. But, despite the best efforts of water utilities and licensed water operators to accomplish the above, drinking water cannot be described as safe if an untested
fluoride chemical is added at the point of discharge to the pipes. Adding fluoride compounds to drinking water creates the very 'drinking water health hazards' that the Ontario Safe Drinking Water Act 2002 was commissioned to prevent.

Thanks for this petition.
I find this subject very important. It seems ode to me then you can get a prescription to have a fluoride product to treat your teeth (and I’m not talking about tooth paste) with a medicine with high concentration of fluoride for the surface of your teeth, but you must spit it out and you need a prescription for it.
I guess the government, towns must have gotten an unlimited time prescription for every present and future soul and to be treated. I wonder how did sign this prescription. He must be dead since! I guess we are luky, they haven’t started to put prozak or viagara in the water yet.

Fluoride is not an essential nutrient. There is no such thing as a fluoride deficiency disease. We can have perfectly healthy teeth and bones without artificially supplementing our drinking water. Fluoride is ubiquitous in our environment. No expert questions the fact that too much causes harm. The margin of safety is too small and no one is monitoring how much we ingest. Even if there were benefits associated with the fluorization, people should have the options to use fluorides or not. Right now all water, including the bottled one contains fluorides. Thank you very much City Hall for caring abour my teeth but I want the option to drink plain water and take care of my dental health separatelly. The reality is that water fluoridation is not healthy at all. Check Dr. Mercola sites and many others. Fluorides are actually water polutants with significant negative health effects. It is easier to fool the population telling them that fluorides are good for health than removing the fluorides from the water.

It saddens me that our basic fundamental human rights are still being taken away from us and when people ask why we never get a straight answer. That's because the answer is MONEY and politics (which is owned by people with lots of money – i.e. Big Pharma and Big Food). Will humanity have to learn the hard way? By definition the fluoride added to our water is a "medication" as it's to prevent tooth decay. I would like the right to refuse this "medication" of fluoride in my tap water as the fact that I dont have that right is technically illegal. There is nothing life threatening, and nothing harmful I could be spreading around by not being medicated with fluoride therefore I should have the right to refuse it. If I want to use the "medication" of fluoride on my teeth, I have access to fluoridated toothpaste that I do not ingest.
The Center for Disease Control even states that fluoridated water should not be consumed by infants as there's the risk of developing fluorosis (which is a bone disease caused by fluoride). Therefore if nothing else the government should supply expecting/mothers with fluoride free water for their infants as it's the government's choice to put that "medication" into our water supply. Same with people who have kidney issues who cannot process the fluoride properly.

This is yet one more issue from a very long list of concerns, where our government has very much on their own decided it was in our best interest to let them take control of what we put into our bodies. Forcing us to drink this chemical without justifying it's presence is mind-boggling, and I can only assume because there are just so many other concerns out there taking precedence, this one seems to have been "forgotten" and brushed aside. In order for me to have peace of mind and feel good about drinking local tap water, I need my government to listen to me, and those around me when we say, take all fluoride out of Canadian public tap water, and stop ignorantly poisoning your citizens. Remember, fluoride is cumulative, there is no "safe level" when you consider that fact. The CDC and ADA now advise against using fluoride. It increases the risk of: cancer, infertility, reduced IQ, cardiovascular disease, dental fluorosis, kidney stones, brain damage (in children) and skeletal fluorosis. It's the main ingredient in rat poison and Prozac, plus it was also used by the Nazi concentration camps to make populations docile. We have to reconsider whether dental health is really worth risking the rest of our body, mind, and soul (calcifies pineal gland) and whether or not it even IS effective at improving dental health itself. Does sunscreen work by drinking it? Or applying it topically?

Fluoride is not safe or effective, those that say it is prove it! The chemicals are not even pharmaceutical grade. The chemicals don't even have a DIN, DIN-HM, NPN, or even Exemption number which goes against the Natural Health Products Directorate and violates the law. The Drugs Directorate at Health Canada got tired of dealing with the issues of fluoridation and moved it to the Natural Products Directorate. Fluoride is more toxic than lead and used to be used as cockroach bait and rat poison. I wonder if the rats that Gerald Cox (Scientist at Alcoa Aluminum Company) tested fluoride on to show fluoride helped cavities survived? Putting fluoride in rat poison and cockroach bait was the only legal way to dispose of fluoride in the olden days. Andrew Mellon and people who worked for him came up with the fluoridation scheme which was their solution to pollution via dillution into our water supply to avoid costly lawsuits. They save tons of money selling their toxic waste to cities to fluoridate the water rather than paying costly amounts to dispose of their toxic waste properly, all in the name of protecting our teeth against tooth decay. Government agencies admit that fluoride's main mechanism of action is topical yet they still force this drug on us systemically which has no benefit whatsoever and poisons every cell in our body! Fluoride is a protoplasmic poison and we are protoplasms. Fluoride does not work to prevent cavities in pits and fissures or to prevent baby bottle decay yet pro fluoridationists use pictures of babies with baby bottle decay to convince communities to fluoridate the water how sad… Newburgh was the first city in the world to fluoridate their water and the control city kingston now has the same tooth decay rates as newburgh so experiment failed! Also people in newburgh have more fluorosis than kingston.

Much to my surprise, after moving here, I found out through an article in the local paper, my town, Gravenhurst, fluoridates the drinking water. I then presented three delegations, one in Gravenhurst, one at the Muskoka District Council, and the last at the Chair Board of Health in Barrie, ON. I am hoping the councillors will begin to think for themselves, instead of depending on recommendations from the Medical Officers of Health. Muskoka District needs more input from COF-COF. Thank you.

Fluoride, be it natural or synthetic, is a known thyroid-suppressant, hence it's former use to treat Graves' Disease, an autoimmune thyroid disease wherein the thyroid is HYPER (over) active. I suffer from Hashimoto's Disease, also an autoimmune thyroid disease but which is the opposite – my thyroid is HYPO (under) active. The artificially-fluoridated water I've been forced to drink, cook, bathe and do my laundry in for 57 years has been suppressing my thyroid gland due to the accumulation of fluoride in my body over time. How do I know this? Because since Nov 2011, simply by ceasing to drink and cook with the fluoridated water my city of Windsor, ON supplies to my home, my thyroid has suddenly begun to work again which was reflected in my Dec 2011 thyroid tests and my thyroid medication was able to be lowered. The government does not have the right to force medicate an entire population! I am sick of the nonsense argument that fluoride helps with tooth decay. First, what is added to our water supply is not naturally occurring fluoride it is the toxic waste from aluminum, phosphorus and nuclear weapons manufacturing that they would otherwise have to pay to store. If you were to try to add fluoride to a water supply you would be charged with a terrorist act, as it is classified as a level 4 poison and is a major ingredient in rat poisons. The Dental Association has submitted reports that state that baby formula should not be mixed with fluoridated water, however, nursery water does contain fluoride, which is an intentional poisoning of our children! I have to purchase fluoride free bottled water to cook with, as boiling fluoridated water actually increases the level of fluoride by seven times. Of course, our food is now contaminated with extremely high levels of fluoride via the soil. I think it is a disgrace that governments have sold out and feel that they have the right to exert such control over our lives. I believe that if anything should be pure it should be our water supply. If people want and believe in the benefits of fluoride they can add it. People need to educate themselves and then act to stop this direct assault on our health!

This debate has gone on long enough, and at the very least, I should have a personal right to refuse so called "medication", unsupervised by a medical doctor and allowed to consume any quantity at anytime. This product has NEVER been safety tested or approved as a drug by Health Canada. The precautionary principle should be taken – leave it out until both sides can agree on the safety and effectiveness. People don't realize the chemical used in our water is "hydrofluorosilic acid" (water, fluoride, sand, acid) from phosphate and aluminum industries. It's toxic waste with heavy metals, such as lead, cadmium and arsenic… no level should be considered safe for mammalian consumption. My personal physician told me to avoid fluoridated water at all costs after a severe thyroid problem. Do the right thing, get it out of our water!
